If you've got original music for sale, it's easy. No licensing.

If you're selling tracks where the song is written by someone else (called a "covertune"), you've got to pay a licensing fee to the song's publisher. It's the way to stay legal, and we make it easy for you to be legal at acaTunes. We handle the licensing for you! We've worked out a deal with the major licensing clearinghouse, the Harry Fox Agency, whereby we deduct the appropriate licensing fees from your sales and handle the payments for you. You're fully legal, and you didn't even have to do anything! No minimums or licenses to buy up front! (some restrictions and exceptions apply)

If you've printed CDs before, you've probably gotten "mechanical licenses" before. Those don't apply to digital downloads. But once again, don't worry....we've got you covered!
